No. The address is commercial/postal only — it does not constitute a habitual residence for AIMA residency purposes. For fiscal representation (the legal designation a non-resident needs for tax purposes), we offer a separate service.

Yes. The Basic, Standard and Premium plans can be used as the registered office (sede social) of a Portuguese LDA. Many of our LDA incorporation clients use this address; it is a clean, central Lisbon location with a verified office presence. If you are pairing this with our LDA incorporation service, we set up both in parallel.

Forwarding to any international destination is itemised separately. CTT standard (3–5 days within EU, longer worldwide) and CTT/DHL Express (1–2 days to most destinations) are available. We email you a quote with a payment link before dispatch. The Premium plan includes the handling fee for forwarding; postage to your country is always charged at cost on every plan.

30 days for Basic and Standard plans, 60 days for Premium. After that we securely return or destroy the item with prior notice.

Yes — standard letters, registered letters, return-receipt (aviso de recepção), and small parcels up to 5 kg. For larger parcels, contact us in advance so we can arrange handling.

There is no lock-in on either billing option. The 6-month prepaid contract does not auto-renew — at month 6 it simply ends unless you actively re-engage; we email you 14 days before the cycle ends. The monthly plan auto-renews via Stripe each month and you can cancel anytime from the client portal with a single click; the cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid month.

The 6-month prepaid plan costs ~20% less per month (Basic €15 vs €19, Standard €25 vs €32, Premium €40 vs €50, all + VAT). It is the right pick if you know you will use the address for at least 6 months. The monthly plan is more expensive per month but lets you stop at any time — it is the right pick if you are testing the service, in transition, or only need an address for a short specific event (a property closing, a single AT correspondence, etc.).

No. The Caixa Postal Eletrónica is the Portuguese government’s electronic mailbox used by AT, Social Security and AIMA to deliver official electronic notifications to companies. This service is different — it is a physical mailing address in Lisbon where postal mail and parcels can be received on your behalf. The two services can be used together: CPE for electronic state correspondence, Lisbon Address & Mail for everything physical.

Most banks accept the address as a correspondence address. Some banks (Novobanco, Millennium) accept it as the registered address; some prefer a residential lease. We can pre-check with our partner banks before you commit.

Yes — Portuguese VAT at 23% applies to all clients because the service is rendered in Portugal. If you are a VAT-registered company in another EU state, contact us about the reverse-charge mechanism (B2B intra-EU).

Plans are prepaid in full and not refundable mid-cycle. The trade-off is the absence of any auto-renewal — at month 6 you keep paying only if you actively choose to.

Some traditional banks (Caixa Geral, BPI) prefer a residential lease for the main address — we can pre-check with the specific bank before you commit. If the bank says no, you keep using the address for utilities and AT while we point you to a bank that accepts.

Yes — physical letters from the AT are routinely sent and received here. For company correspondence, the AT mainly uses the electronic Caixa Postal Eletrónica (CPE). For individuals, physical letters (NIF confirmations, tax notices, IRS reminders) arrive at the postal address registered with the AT, which can be this one. We forward, scan or archive each piece per your choice.

Within 2 business days. You get the formatted address by email along with the client-portal login. Mail can start arriving immediately — though the first envelope usually takes 5–10 days after senders (banks, utility providers, AT) update their records with your new address.

Letters, registered mail, AR (aviso de recepção) and parcels up to 5 kg are included. Larger parcels and customs-cleared shipments require a heads-up email — we handle them on a case-by-case basis with the surcharge billed at cost. We do not accept dangerous goods, perishables, or items subject to special storage requirements.

Yes, this is one of the most common use cases. Many non-residents need a Portuguese postal address to receive correspondence from the AT, banks, utilities or property managers without having a residential lease. Critical difference: a Portuguese address is what you need for banks, AT, AIMA and any official PT correspondence — a US address does not work for any of these. The address can be used as a contact address on a Schengen visa application or short-stay documentation, but it does not extend the 90/180 limit on its own. No. The service is built specifically for non-residents. We sign you up under Power of Attorney, you remain in your home country, and you only ever come to Portugal if and when you decide to. Most clients are in the US, UK, UAE, Germany, France, Canada or Australia.

Yes, anytime. From monthly to 6-month: subscribe to the prepaid plan in the portal; we cancel the monthly auto-renewal effective the next billing date. From 6-month to monthly: just don’t renew at the cycle end — instead, start a monthly subscription. We don’t pro-rate refunds mid-cycle.

Items already in physical storage stay for 30 days (Basic/Standard) or 60 days (Premium) past the cycle end, then are securely returned or destroyed with prior notice. Mail arriving after the cycle ends is returned to sender. We email you 14 days before the prepaid cycle ends so you have plenty of time to decide.

Yes. We operate under EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and Portuguese Lei 58/2019. All data is hosted in EU data centres (Google Cloud Europe). You can export your data or request deletion from the client portal. We never open mail without your explicit instruction (clause 12 of the BO-VMB contract). Audit log on every login is accessible from your account page.
